CLIENT
Señor Taco, Singapore’s first taqueria, originally opened in 2009, quickly becoming a hotspot for authentic Mexican street food, handcrafted cocktails, and vibrant nightlife. After permanently closing during the COVID-19 pandemic, it successfully reopened in February 2024 with a fresh new concept, blending its signature lively atmosphere with a modernized brand identity
Task
As the Creative Director and Graphic Designer, I was responsible for revamping the entire visual identity of Señor Taco. This included developing the branding, designing all collaterals, creating the website, and overseeing the photography to capture the energy and authenticity of the new space. The goal was to maintain the essence of the beloved taqueria while giving it a refreshed, contemporary look that would stand out in the dynamic Clarke Quay nightlife scene.
CHALLENGES
Balancing Tradition & Modernity: The branding needed to honor the restaurant’s heritage while giving it a bold, updated look. Capturing the Experience: Señor Taco is more than just a restaurant—it’s an experience. The design had to reflect the festive yet laid-back atmosphere of a true Mexican taqueria. Multi-Platform Consistency: The identity had to translate seamlessly across printed materials, digital platforms, and environmental branding within the space.
OUTCOME
The rebranding of Señor Taco Clarke Quay successfully reintroduced the iconic taqueria to Singapore’s food and nightlife scene. The new identity enhances the dining experience while staying true to the brand’s roots. With a bold, energetic look and a cohesive brand presence across all platforms, Señor Taco continues to attract both loyal patrons and new visitors eager to experience a taste of Mexico in the heart of Singapore.
